Reverend Harry Herbert, Executive Director

Reverend Herbert is a Minister of the Uniting Church in Australia and has overall responsibility for UnitingCare NSW.ACT and its community services across New South Wales and ACT. Rev Herbert is a strong public voice on issues of injustice in society and actively advocates on behalf of the service users of UnitingCare.

As well as being Executive Director of UnitingCare NSW.ACT, Rev Herbert holds a number of other positions, including:

• Co-chairperson, AGL Customer Council
• Member, Legal Aid Commission Board
• Chair and Trustee of the Responsible Gambling Fund
• Member, NSW Government Boarding House Expert Advisory Group
• Secretary of the Civil Chaplaincies Advisory Committee (CCAC)
• Member, Board of UnitingCare Ageing
• Member, Board of UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families
• Member, Board of UntingCare Children’s Services

Jim Munro, Director Business Operations

B.E., M.App.Sc., M.B.A., AFAIM, MIEAust

Jim Munro was appointed in July 2004 to oversee the business operations of UnitingCare; develop and implement performance improvement strategies for UnitingCare Service Groups and Programs; and develop and implement consistent business systems and policies across UnitingCare Service Groups and Programs.
Jim has extensive experience in strategic management, information systems management and business analysis in the health and community services sector, manufacturing and public administration sectors. Jim is a Uniting Church member.

 

Kathy Bowe, Community Services Consultant

Kathy joined UnitingCare in March 2007. Her role involves working with UnitingCare Programs such as Lifeline and the wide range of community services offered by presbyteries & missions throughout NSW & the ACT. Important aspects of her role are to support the community services; assist services & agencies in service delivery and development; and, contribute to the development of effective networks in order to facilitate sharing of resources and information.

During her career Kathy has worked in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Her roles have included working in health care as a registered nurse in clinical care & service management; as a project manager primarily in the areas of health service planning & development; and, most recently as a Service Manager in community aged care.

Sandra Black, Director Communication

BA (Comm.), MIABC

Sandra joined UnitingCare NSW.ACT in June 2006 after serving 11 years with UnitingCare Burnside. Her most recent role there was Director, Social Justice, Partnerships and Communication where her responsibilities included research, social policy, communication, fundraising and chaplaincy.

Her career experience covers the corporate, consultancy and non-for-profit sectors in marketing, media, communication, advertising, publications and brand development.

As Director Communication, Sandra oversees the strategic direction and focus of communication for UnitingCare NSW.ACT and its services. Sandra is committed to social justice advocacy, particularly through the development of arts and communication initiatives. She has also completed post-graduate studies in arts management.

Kathryn McGill, Communication Coordinator

BA (Communication.) Social Inquiry

Kathryn joined UnitingCare in May 2005. Kathryn is responsible for providing project management support and input into a range of communication projects and initiatives undertaken by the Director Communication, UnitingCare NSW.ACT.

Ingrid Hoff, Public Relations Assistant

Bachelor of Media and Communications, Journalism and Politics, from the University of Wollongong.

Ingrid joined UnitingCare in July 2008. Ingrid is responsible for a range of communication activities and projects undertaken by the Director Communications including media, public relations and website management.

Denis Tamplin, Corporate Finance Manager

BEc., B.App.Sci(Agric), M.Comm., CPA

Denis Tamplin was appointed in April 2004 to manage UnitingCare’s accounting and finance. A practicing Christian, Denis is a member of several ecumenical organisations. He has had considerable commercial experience in positions as diverse as Financial Controller for Tamburlaine Wines, Executive Officer of the NSW Farmers Association, Deputy National Director, Australian Catholic Relief (now Caritas Australia) and National Research Officer for the St Vincent de Paul Society.

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)

Michelle joined UnitingCare in February 2007 and is part of the UnitingCare finance team.
