How have your fundraising efforts helped vulnerable people?

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated in UnitingCare Pancake Day events. Your efforts have helped UnitingCare NSW.ACT continue to provide quality services for the thousands we care for each day.

In 2009 funds raised helped thousands of Australians doing it tough, particularly those affected by the bushfires in Victoria.

Funds not nominated for the National Bushfire Appeal were distributed via a grants process. UnitingCare Pancake Day grants enable UnitingCare agencies to help address poverty and provide support to vulnerable people such as:
• Families in crisis
• People without adequate food, clothing or shelter (Victorian bushfire victims)
• Abused and neglected children
• Youth at risk because of family breakdown, unemployment or homelessness
• The frail aged needing support
• People with physical or intellectual disabilities
• People affected by substance abuse or problem gambling
• Migrant families and refugees
